About us

Welcome to Our Clinic

Finding the right therapist is an important step – one that works best in a space where you feel understood, supported, and genuinely cared for. Ogen LaNefesh was created to offer exactly that: a thoughtful, grounded, and compassionate environment for individuals, couples, parents, and families.

We work with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, life transitions, and challenges within relationships or parenting. We work with clients across the lifespan, from young children and teenagers to young adults, adults, and older adults, with care that is tailored to each stage of life.

About us

Our Approach

We believe that meaningful therapy begins with meeting each person where they are. Our work is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic and relational approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based practices.

This blend allows us to support clients with both practical tools for day-to-day challenges and deeper insight into the patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape their lives. Across all ages and backgrounds, our focus is on helping people build self-understanding, psychological flexibility, resilience, and more meaningful connections.

Our Therapists

Aharon Herskovitz

MA, Clinical Psychologist

Aharon is a clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults (as individuals, couples and/or parents), helping them navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, life transitions, and the demands of family life. His approach is grounded in integrative work, using psychodynamic approaches, as well as evidenced-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), integrating practical tools with a warm, collaborative style.

After years of experience across hospitals, clinics, and community settings, Aharon founded this clinic to offer thoughtful, values-based care in a supportive environment. He also teaches, writes, and speaks regularly on mental health, parenting, and the intersection of psychology and Jewish life,  all of which inform his natural, down-to-earth therapeutic voice.

You can learn more about him on his website.

Avital Cohen

MSW, Psychotherapist

Avital is a psychotherapist with experience working with adults across the lifespan. She supports clients facing a wide range of challenges, including eating disorders, clinical depression, social anxiety, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and life transitions. She also works with individuals navigating the complexities of aliyah and the emotional adjustments that accompany it, as well as offering parental guidance (הדרכת הורים). In addition to her clinical work, Avital works within the Misrad HaBriut and has a strong understanding of systems such as Bituach Leumi, allowing her to support clients in navigating both emotional and practical aspects of care. Her therapeutic style is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in a deep belief in each person’s capacity for growth, resilience, and healing.

Drawing from her training as a clinical social worker with an MSW from New York University School of Social Work, Avital integrates psychodynamic understanding with practical, supportive approaches tailored to each individual. When helpful, she incorporates creative modalities such as art, and for younger clients, play-based techniques to support expression and processing. She offers a safe, attuned space where clients can deepen self-understanding, navigate challenges, and move toward greater stability and well-being.
